In my seventeen years of living, i like to think that i have accomplished some things that have an impact on the world. I started volunteering 4 years ago and I am still volunteering since I am in my school’s volunteer’s society. It is my sixth year in The G C School of careers and through its clubs and societies i have benefitted a lot. I am a member of the Science club as well as the Astronomy club. I try to expand my knowledge and experiences of the Science field as much as possible. Hence I did a project on the “Utilization of satellites technology for improved weather forecasts”, which won the title of the project with the most environmental awareness.
The thing that motivated me most to participate to Odysseus contest was the general idea. I was always into physics and Odysseus ll Contest gave me the opportunity to express my interests through a project.
In my project my friend and I got to interview a Cypriot meteorologist and got an inside on how the system really works.
One of the most important things that I learned during the preparation of my project was that the meteorological field involving satellites has improved a lot since 1950 and can still improve in the future due to technological advances.
Yes, it influenced me very much. I now have a better view on some jobs related to space science.
